Over a period of 10 weeks, interns at Still She Rises will both receive intensive training in various legal disciplines and play an integral role in the provision of holistic representation to our clients. Interns will receive training on the holistic defense model from practitioners across different disciplines, participate in trial skills training, and have close, ongoing supervision from our senior attorneys and advocates. Interns will have the opportunity to work across legal disciplines as part of our holistic team, but can specify their primary interest in criminal defense, family defense or civil generalist practice.
Legal Interns will assist Still She Rises attorneys in every aspect of client representation from initial interview through trial. Their responsibilities include but are not limited to preparing for hearings and trial, interviewing clients and witnesses, conducting legal research, writing legal motions, connecting clients with necessary resources and representing them in court. Interns will also have the opportunity to observe in all venues (e.g., Criminal Court, Civil Court, Family Court, etc.) as necessary or desired. Notably, all summer legal interns will have opportunities for extensive client and community interaction, including helping organize summer activities for the community such as the Still She Rises Annual Cookout.
Applicants for all practice areas must demonstrate:
Applicants must be first or second-year law students at an American Bar Association accredited law school.

However, applications will be considered on a rolling basis and applicants are encouraged to apply early.
